About Us

The mission of Communities In Schools of Puyallup is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to succeed in school and achieve in life!

Communities In Schools of Puyallup is an affiliate in the nation’s largest and leading dropout prevention organization. Our goal is to ensure that all students in Puyallup, Washington are equipped with the resources and support they need to stay in school and succeed in life. Our organization works within the public school system, working closely with the school staff to identify student needs. By establishing connections and coordinating the resources of diverse community partners-local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers, and parent and volunteer organizations-we are able to provide and broker programs and services essential to student success.

Since our incorporation in 2002, we have been providing meaningful, high-impact services to thousands of Puyallup’s students, including academic assistance in early math and reading skills, mentoring, after school enrichment activities, access to basic resources, and annual student-organized community service projects. We serve over 13,000 students each year, and continue to grow and evolve with the needs of the District, working to ensure that all of Puyallup’s students stay in school and achieve in life.
