DESCRIPTION:The Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce and the Fife-Milton-Edgewood Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the Hiring Our Heroes Lunch and Learn with event sponsors Pacific Medical Centers and The Cottages at Edgewood. This Lunch and Learn will feature the South Sound Military and Communities Partnership (SSMCP) and Licensed Clinical Psychologist Nick Jones.\n\n\n\nProgram Director Sarah Luna from the SSMCP will review the JBLM regional economic impact. She will also give key insight into how your business can become more military friendly and the many opportunities your company can take advantage of to hire military members transitioning out of service\, their family\, and veterans. The SSMCP will help your company to be visible at military job fairs\, employer spotlight events\, recruitment assessments\, and spousal internship placements. \n\n\n\nFollowing the SSMCP\, Licensed Clinical Psychologist Nick Jones will review the signs of PTSD in the workplace\, how it impacts employees\, and how employers can help to manage and correct these impacts to retain hired military veterans. Nick will provide tangible steps that you can take to better support your veteran workforce.
