Highly anticipated spa and enhanced salon bring more expert
services to South Sound
SEATTLE—May 14, 2009—Gene Juarez Salons & Spas announced today that its enlivened, expanded salon and new spa located in South Hill Mall will unveil June 29. This change ushers in new massage, waxing, nail, makeup and facial services as well as more hair artists to provide expert cuts and color.
The salon and spa at South Hill follows the fresh, contemporary aesthetic of the company’s most recent flagship location in University Village, which opened last year. It features contemporary design that conveys warmth, luxury, and a nod to the company’s Pacific Northwest heritage. The design is adorned with dynamic, multi-faceted finishes including dark woods, a textured ‘bloom’ wall, stainless steel beaded draperies, large windows and recycled glass station countertops. The look is literally topped off with iconic entry-way ceiling fixtures including signature lime green ‘petals’ and an Italian hand-blown glass chandelier. The modern yet comfortable 6,100 square foot space, that will become the jewel of the South Hill Mall, allows guests to fully indulge in the environment as they relax, rejuvenate and transform. The design is the vision and work of Judith Testani of Testani Design Troupe and Riccardo Cattapan of CMD Architects.
“We’re thrilled to bring South Hill guests the full range of salon and spa services they have been requesting,” Janet Denyer said, Gene Juarez Salons & Spas chief executive officer. “With a new and larger, contemporized space, we’re able to deliver South Sound guests the complete spa experience and expand our ability to offer more options in hair services with more hair artists.”
The new spa area will envelop guests in luxuriously appointed spa rooms and service areas. A plush changing and guest waiting area for men and women is provided where guests can dial down and merge into their beauty and wellness journey. The new space includes skin care rooms where guests can experience the rejuvenation of a Signature Gene Juarez Facial. Guests of the massage suite will find deep relaxation in the Signature Serenity Massage which is inspired by ancient Ayurvedic Indian principles or receive body therapy with a Deep Tissue Massage or Reflexology Retreat. The spacious nail spa offers the region’s finest manicures and pedicures via longer rejuvenating and shorter express services. Dedicated waxing stations and a private waxing room are provided to facilitate smooth beautiful skin. Comfortable make-up stations crown the experience by giving artists space to provide make-up lessons, offer lash enhancements and custom blend make-up for home use.
Also modernized and expanded is the salon area which increases South Hill’s design and color offerings. With fifty percent more stations, additional guests will receive the region’s best couture haircuts, and/or be treated to expert color services. Every hair appointment starts with a visit to the Kérastase Shampoo Spa – where guests are treated to shampoo, scalp massage and conditioner with premium, restorative Kérastase products.
The newly expanded salon and spa will also feature an expanded retail area which will house the luxurious and effective products that Gene Juarez’s expert stylists and therapists use during guest services. The retail line is lead by the marquis and highly restorative Kérastase hair care, by L’Oreal. Also, for beautiful, healthy hair, the artful and modern Shu Uemura products are provided as well as Gene Juarez’s own, artist-developed line of cleansing, restoring and styling products. For beautiful and youthful skin, the all-natural Arcona line is featured as well as the highly skin-regenerating Skin Authority products. For deeply effective cleansing, Clarisonic brushes can be found, as well as the FDA-approved Nuface - a facial toning and stimulation device which offers a non-invasive face lift. Gene Juarez also provides a full line of Essie nail care and make-up with many customizable products including lipstick, lip gloss, mineral make-up foundation, liquid foundation, shadows, blushes, concealers and more.
