Deseret Industries Thrift Store Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening

You're invited to join us as we cut the ribbon and celebrate the grand opening of Deseret Industries' new thrift store in Puyallup!

Deseret Industries is a non-profit organization and a division of the welfare services provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). They opened in Puyallup in a temporary location in August 2020, but they've operated in the Puget Sound area for 15 years.

As with other thrift stores, Deseret's stores receive donated items such as furniture, appliances, computers, and clothing, which are then sold. They also provide job skill training for the physically, emotionally and socially challenged and seek to place them into private sector employment.

A few folks from Deseret stopped by the Chamber recently and we asked them to tell us about their organization. Check out the video with Steve, Mari and Craig--they are looking forward to serving the community!
